Tsitsi Gladys Madzongwe is a Zimbabwean American, Pan Afrikan Poet/Author/Playwright. Tsitsi also works as a Certified Nurse Assistant at a local Healthcare Facility in the DMV Region. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
She has years of experience in Public Administration, Partnerships and Community Developments projects. She has served for over a half a decade as a Board Member for the Pan African Festival that takes place once a year in Silver Spring, Maryland. She also serves on the Fund-Raising Committee for Citizens of Diaspora Zimbabweans in America (COZDA)
Tsitsi is passionate about advocating for women, children, affordable health care and poverty alleviation amongst other things.
She firmly believes that Poetry is both an art and a movement through which individuals can express themselves. Tsitsi has performed at the Pan African Festival, World Bank. South African Community USA (SACU) and various other community events.
Her poetry is organic with an intent to translate the idea of diversity and integration amongst various local and global communities. Tsitsi firmly believe that profound social, economic and cultural change is achieved through spoken words that speaks to our hearts and humanity.
Pan Africanism is fundamentally about cultural regeneration and economic sustainability. It is Tsitsi's hope to see a borderless Africa with integration, resources and economic empowerment. Unity and Solidarity are strength, opportunity and empowerment. Chefmarie
